From the story in the link above, there is a proposal to bring in a minimum price for alcoholic drinks.   The price would be 50p per unit of alcohol as a minimum.

I think the drinking age should be lowered to 14 years old.   As long as its in a pub with a responsible adult in supervision.   This may not go down to well in some pubs
