Beer promotes strong bones as you age

Lonesome pint

Whilst being cautious not to be like the frequent overindulger who reminds you that beer is full of B-vitamins & red wine protects against heart disease, whilst forgetting that it ruins your liver at the same time: Beer can help give you stronger bones as you get old says a study by Charles Bamforth & Troy Casey reported in the New Scientist.

This was first reported in the Journal of Bone & Mineral Research in 2003, but this new finding has narrowed down where the selenium comes from & which beers are the best for causing the effect - pale, hoppy ones.

Charles Bamforth at the University of California, Davis is just about the most qualitfied man on the planet to talk about beer & has other interesting sides to his personality too.
