A traditional style pub to the East of the city centre with a wooden floor & distressed wooden tables. Posters for studenty music nights downstairs & beers on the walls. 5 real ales on tap plus Sierra Nevada Pale Alei & Leffe Blonde. Just loads of great bottled beers - mostly from American craft breweries.

I had an Avalanche from Fyne Ales - my favourite beer in a bottle for a while now - & it didn't dissapoint: a very pale ale with a fresh, citrus hoppiness. Friendly staff & a good streak & ale pie ( I say pie, but it was a stew with a prebaked pastry cloud on top - not a pie in my book!).

I suspect it gets crowded at weekends, but on a Tuesday night it was a great place to have a meal & a drink.

Ooh! And look at the range of beers lined up to be served! The only downside was that I had nobody to talk about how great it was with.
