Last week at work I drove through Preston & saw a Booths supermarket. I made a mental note to call in for some lunch & get a few nice bottles for home. There were some of the usual decent quality beers at a low price, but I thought I'd treat myself & only get beers that I know are truly awesome - wow beers.
It got me thinking: could I buy 6 beers of better quality in any other supermarket in the UKi? I suspect not.
If you look at their website, they don't even mention their beer range! Its the best in the UK as far as I can see & they don't mention it once!
Hawkshead Lakeland Gold - a great, clean tasting golden ale where you can really taste the Cascadei hops.
Fyne Ales Avalanche - a really strong floral Grapefruit / lemon citrussy hop flavour in another clean tasting beer.
Ulverston Another Fine Mess - a bottle conditioned golden ale with a subtle honey & elderflower taste.
Harviestoun Shiehallion - a crossover beer to appeal to lager drinkers, but a great beer in its own right with a big fresh Noble hop flavour.
Fyne Ales Highlander - more of an orangey citrus taste than the Avalanche & a little more maltiness.
Ulverston Lonesome Pine - a bottle conditioned pale ale with a delicate sweetness & a resinous hoppiness.
