A lovely pub for summer drinking. Two real ales on tap & both ones I hadn't tried before; Everards Hazy Daze was lovely - very much like a German weissebeer - hazy, with a taste of cloves and yeast - but less gassy and cold in the English style. The other was White Horse Village Idiot which I didn't get to try as I was attempting to walk around the IoW at the time.
This pub has been criticised for being unfriendly to non-locals, but the chap behind the bar was very happy to see me & chatty. It is a very small bar area however & the locals did fill it up, so being served is always going to be between people's conversation.
A large outdoor drinking area is pleasant enough but I imagine the pub suffers during bad weather & winter.
