I visited the GBBFi on Thursday 3rd August as a corporate day out with my work and on Friday with Rhian, Ruth, Matt & Andrew. It got busy both days at around 17.00, luckily we got there earlier.
There were no beers that we had that were head & shoulders above the rest, but here is a list of what we liked:
Archers IPAi
Atlas Pilsner
Batham Best
Bazens Black Pig Mild
Beowolf Dragon Smoke Stout
Brooklyn Weisse Beer
Broughton Border Gold Organic Alei
Budvar Dark Lageri
Caingorm Black Gold
Cains Cask Stout
Cains Finest Cask Lager
E&S 1872 Porter
Fruh Kolschi
Girardin Framboise
Glastonbury Mystery Tor
Great Oakley Gobble
Kelburn Vicky's Platonic Tonic
Kelham Island Easy Rider
Lowenbrau Buttenheim Kellerbier
McMullen Country Best Bitter
Nottingham Cock & Hoop
Oakleaf Nuptu' ALe
Plassey Offa's Dyke
Sierra Nevada Pale Bock
Stewarts Edinburgh Gold
Teignworthy Old Moggie
Tomos Watkin Cwrw Haf
Tunnel Fields of Gold
Weatheroak Redwood
Williams Bros Groznet

Favourites for me were Cains Cask Stout, Fruh Kolsch and Kellam Island Easy Rider. The Cains was just a good ordinary stout, not too dry, not too sweet, not too burnt & not too mellow. Fruh was a stereotypical Kolsch, a little sweeter and more body than a Pils and a little less hops. Being a warm day helped this go down well. Kellam Island was an extremely pale ale with a good hop flavour but not too bitter.

Overall it was a good fest, but very busy and a long way away.
