Hop & Stagger, Bridgnorth

On a wander around Bridgnorth Castle ruins I found a small off license next to a pub - The White Lion on West Castle Street.   In it was the landlord of the pub who had set up the offie a few weeks ago after a series of other shops had been on the premises.

Every local brewery from Shropshirei (Salopian, Ludlow, Corvedale, Bewdley, Ironbridge, Three Tuns & of course Hobson's) & a little further afield seemed to be represented, with a few exotic beers thrown in for good measure.   The chap & his helper - a young lad - were happy to chat & it was a shame I've just had to budget as I could easily have spent £40-£50 on beers I've never tried before.   Instead I had to settle for 6 bottles.   When it comes to weird & wonderful, cider seems to be this chaps speciality - there were loads of ciders I'd never heard of let alone seen or tasted before.

There are glasses & pump clips available should you want brewerania, but this shop's main business appears to be local ale & speciality ciders.   Have a day out & take a look.
