How to get served in a busy pub

News

A traditional British queue is being considered in town centre Oldham pubs to reduce trouble.   Already in the news for an all you can drink for £5.99 nightclub offer, some Oldham residents seem to have a spot of bother with handling their drink.

The link at the top of the page is from the BBC Magazine & has tips on getting served & how not to get served.

I'm glad my favourites are in there;

Smile at the bar staff - nobody wants to serve a miserable git.   By far the most important rule.

If the barstaff asks who's next (& the person next to you genuinely is) then point to the person next to you.   You will be served 2nd instead of 7th.   I've found that this always works, not only will the barstaff remember you next but the person who you pointed at will invariably point back at you when they've been served.

All fairly obvious stuff you would think, but I have met people who think tapping on the bar with coins will get them served next.
