This is a modern pub in a residential street with a light, airy feel about it.  The service by Ben the barman was excellent & they had 10 real ales on tap.   Most of the beers were from the area around Cambridge & 2 were on their "recession busting" list & were around £2.00 a pint.

All the beers we tried (almost all the beers on the bar) were in good condition & the barman knew all about them.   The beer garden is more a beer yard, but nice enough with greenery surrounding it & table to rest your drink on.   The pub cat wasn't interested in the customers.

The food was great & 7 of us ate for £42 thanks to some of their "recession busting" meals.   The pork pie & cheese was recommended by the barman & was great.

On a pub crawl of Cambridge lasting 2 days, it was the only pub we went to twice.   The Oakham Ahkenaten & Buntingford Polar Star were the 2 best beers for me from the selection.

In my opinion, this was the best pub in Cambridge.

If you need it there is free wifi access.
