Nothing New Under The Sun? Wrong.

Dawn Kolpin of The Marksman in Shoreditch, London was reported on the realbusiness website as being "Britain's Most Wired Landlady".   Brushing aside my 1st childish thought of "they've spelt weird wrong" - this would appear to be a case of a Landlady really offering something of a unique experience in a pub & it looks fantastic.

Most media reports (Evening Standard, Sky News, & of course realbusiness) focus on the bartering for beer aspect, which I suppose is what brought the pub to my attention, but it appears to be a cross between an olde worlde traditional English pub & a young couple renovating it without destroying what character it had.   The usual pub review sites agree with me on that.

I would love to visit (not sure what I could barter for a meal & a few pints; a legionella risk assessment? water tank disinfection? painting of the Landlord & Landlady?) & see the jukebox selection, the terrace garden & of course the beer selection (Tim Taylor's Landlord on tap I notice).

Hopefully its also the final nail in the coffin of ripping out an old timewarped pub & having everything gleam in formica & stainless steel - or worse Oirish road signs & agricultural implements - but I won't hold my breath.
