The Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury

Surely the best pub in Shrewsburyi!   Modern with film posters on the walls and flowers on the tables.   A good selection of beers.   Dark Star's Hophead was there when we visited - a splendid pint but difficult to find in the south let alone 200 miles away from the brewery.   Bags of floral hoppy flavour for a session strength, golden  beer.  Stonehouse's Cambrian Gold was very a fruity pale beer.   Thornbridge White Swan was excellent.   An extremely pale beer with a fresh flavour and session strength.

Gets very busy in the evening.

Staying over for a few days in Shrewsburyi with work, I made a bee line straight to this pub - only a 2 mile walk! The furniture has moved around a little & 2 big tellies showing the last of the transfer window movements dominated a little, but still a smashing pub.

Good service in a nice atmosphere. The only downside was that I missed the Belgian beer festival by a day!
