A few weeks ago I was in Nottingham reading the local CAMRA magazine in The Salutation, when I read about a new brewery: Sleaford Brewery in - you guessed it - Sleaford, Linconshire! A few days later I discovered that a friend of my wife from 6th form's cousin is the brewer. Tenuous I know.
Coincidentally, my work sent me out to Grantham & Lincoln for a few days, so I arranged to pop in & say hi to Chris - who is the Sleaford Brewery. When I got there, there was a small crowd of people keen to see Chris do well as he was moving wort from the mash tun to the kettle through his ingenious filter system - a common-or-garden sieve! This was to be his pale ale.
This was a short while ago, so his beers are for sale now under the Sleaford Brewery name for traditional-style beers & for the more modern styles ( using Amarillo & Simcoe hops - what a coincidence!) under the Hop Me Up logo. Check out the brewery website to find where to buy them on tap or in bottles.

Thanks for the advert although I must say it was a brand new sterile kitchen sieve, not some manky garden thing.
I now have the full range of 7 beers available and some specials to follow, I also have oak barrels for aging some specials.
I am at Sleaford Farmers Market 1st Saturday (tomorrow) and many more things going on.
Best wishes, Chris
