There were around 40 or 50 beers on, mostly localish. Memorable ones were:
Castle Rock Black Gold - a black bitter. Not a porter or a bitter mild. Good stuff.
Dark Star Expresso Stout - we've had this before, loads of flavour, nice and bitter, not too sweet.
Isle of Purbeck IPAi - a good, bitter and hoppy mid coloured bitter. Lovely.
Mallard Duck 'n' Dive - I didn't like this. Smelt like horse manure which I found difficult to taste much through. Rhian liked it though.
Oakhams Bishops Farewell - This was ace! The beer sheet said it was a hoppy ale with hints of grapefruit. It did! It was incredibly pale, good and hoppy, but not bitter and really had a grapefruity taste whilst remaining dry. My favourite of the session.
Pictish Alchemist - One of Rhian's. Not my cup of tea - Rhian knows how to pick ones she'll love & I won't.
We met a bloke called Birch from Houston there. He was an interesting fella who liked real ale but couldn't find more than 3 people in Houston who shared his tastes. An interesting bloke, we spoke for half an hour or so.
We did go on the railway and went for a walk along the beach front at Swanagei, before returning to the festival.
