The Crown Inn, Stockport

The Crown is billed as Stockporti's premier real ale pub and they're right!  It is the bee's pyjamas and used as a place to hole up after the Stocky Beer Fest before we go to Rusholme for a curry.  At least 8 real ales and at least twice has served green beer (not fresh hops or anything - literally green beer) which was the very lovely Sign of Spring by Stonehenge.

It would be an understatement to say that the pub is at the node of several transport routes.   Its right under Manchesteri airport's flightpath, the London to Manchester railway line viaduct goes over the beer garden and a busy M60 motorway junction is right next to it.   Don't let this put you off, but a quiet country pub it ain't!   This does make it very easy to get to by public transport of course.
