The Plough, Milton Keynes

Friendly pub-restaurant with 4 real ales and bottles of decent lager.   You can eat in the proper restaurant or in the bar area.   The only pub named after a contellation I can think of.   Friendly barman even provided waiter service when he wasn't busy.   Everards Tiger was the best beer of the evening.

Better than I thought it

Better than I thought it might be. I was concerned that since the back had turned into a fairly posh restraurant the front might suffer. But it was still really friendly which was good.

Some historical background - First it was the plough (digging fields device) and a bit unpleasant and locally. Then it was Trekkers, which was a 'Sci-Fi' bar. Not on the scale of FAB or anything like that, but it had a full size Jar Jar Binks (damn him!) and a dalek. Unfortunately too far from the town centre to pick up wandering nerd traffic this didn't really hit it off with the locals. Now its the Plough again (constellation though - clever nod to Trekkers maybe?) and the general quality has gone up.

I'd definitely keep it on my list of places to visit whilst Alcocycling. If you're scale allowed it I'd have given it 3.5 stars. Probably you can't have .5 of a star, so maybe 3 sol-standards and a brown dwarf.
