This is such a brilliant idea that it deserves reporting. Seven pubs in Northi Wales got together and had a beer festival on Saturday 19th July 2008 with a bus running between them until after closing time. This is such a good idea and use of local resources for many reasons;
- Each pub doesn't need to stump up the cost of the entire festival itself
- Each pub only needs a few extra beers each to make large amount of beer choice available
- It promotes local pubs
- It helps locals meet each other
- It supports local beer & breweries
- It promotes public transport
- It discourages car use & drink driving
The pubs involved were;
- Kinmel Arms, Llandyrnog
- Golden Lion, Llandyrnog
- White Horse, Llandyrnog
- White Horse, Henderwydd
- Golden Lion, Llangynhafal
- Griffin , Llanbedr
- Three Pigeons, Graigfechan
This time next year I shall be living in Lancashire - a bit closer than my current home near Southamptoni - & I hope to go the 2nd Vale of Clwyd Beer Festival.
