Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem, Nottingham

Now I couldn't stay a night in Nottingham without calling in here. I assumed it would be hideously expensive & I would just have a swift drink & leave the crowds of tourists behind - I'm reminded here of a supposed German expression "you're not in a traffic jam, you are the traffic jam" as I am one of those tourists - but was pleasantly surprised.

The pub is basically a decent boozer in a cave under the castle. Worth going to to say you've been there & certainly it has several real ales on. I had a Nottingham Brewery, Extra Pale Alei which was exactly what it says on the pump clip - very pale, with a Goldings-like massive hoppiness & a good dry finish. Lovely.

The food menu was reasonably priced & seemed to be normal pub fayre but I'd already eaten.
