There is an advert that annoys me. Its for Wychwood Hobgoblin beer and the tagline is "What's the matter lagerboy, afraid you might taste something?". Obviously pointing out that lager louts drink cheap fizz made of corn syrup with minimal taste. The response I would imagine from the lager louts would be "yes - old socks!".

First of all, its not 24-hour drinking. Hardly any pubs have 24-hour licenses (Hotels & casinos have the vast majority) and even fewer use them, so the term 24-hour drinking is only used as an emotive headline by scaremongering journalists. Unfortunately the drip-drip-drip constant bombardment has meant that even the BBC uses the phrase.
I think the drinking age should be lowered to 14 years old. As long as its in a pub with a responsible adult in supervision. This may not go down to well in some pubs
