Reviews

Below are some bottled Scottish beers I have tasted, both ale & lager styles;

Antonine Amber Ale

Tryst

A gusher - the beer was caught quickly in 3 glasses & drunk once the foam had collapsed.

Carronade Pale Ale

Brewery:

Tryst

Brewery website calls it an IPAi, bottle label says it is a pale ale, I would call it an American Pale Alei - A small quibble when the beer's this good.

Drovers 80/-

beer
Brewery:

Tryst

A copper-chestnut brown ale true to the traditional Scottish 80/- style. Malty aroma not masked by hops, nor for that matter the taste - a very low hopped beer.

Raj India Pale Ale

Brewery:

Tryst

Deep golden ale. Solid earthy, pine-resin hoppiness that lingers. Some caramel-toffee malt. A traditional English-style India Pale Alei with some punch to it.

Homebrew: Birthday Porter with mixed peel

Beers and Brewing

I bottled most of my Birthday Porter into 1 & 2 litre PET bottles, but kept 7 litres back to experiment with.

Homebrew: Birthday Porter

Beers and Brewing

A substantial porter that will be ready to drink for my wife's (it ends in a "0") birthday. She wanted it chocolatey.

Homebrew: Chinook 58 American Pale Ale

Beers and Brewing

My favourite style of beer is American Pale Alei & no suprises then that I've brewed a few (they're all on this website);

American Pale Ale
Simcoe Liberty Bitter
Simcoe Cascadei Bitter
